Tuesdays at 1pm CT (Each session lasts 45 to 60 minutes) Memorial Day thru Labor Day

Our Summer Learning Series a group of interrelated, hands-on, interactive lessons all about dairy farming and dairy products. Join us for one or more of these lessons. You will experience hands-on learning, video chats with our team on the farm, and colorful delicious science experiments!

Storytime Saturday

Come for the Story… Stay for the Activity.

Take part in a story about agriculture, on a large scale, with many interactive pieces! Following the story, enjoy interactive lessons where you can create together, and even take items home with you!

STORYTIME:  11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm CT

Jack And The Cornstalk is a twist on the classic fairy tale but about one of the most plentiful crops in our home state of Indiana – Corn! Help Jack scape the Giant’s palace and bring the corn kernels home. Stay to learn a bit about seed science, how to make a greenhouse on your own and to bring home to take care of your germinating seed!

There Was A Young Farmer Who Got Milk From Her Cow is a brand new tale in the form of a long form nursery rhyme. We explore the cycle of dairy farming, and all of the important steps that go into making milk and taking care of the cows. Stay to make and enjoy a frozen dairy treat, and learn about how the farms can cool the milk from their cows amazingly fast!

The Three Little Racing Pigs is a twist on the classical tale where the Pigs face off against the Big Fast Wolf at the farm’s annual harvest run and remind us all of the importance of proper training and preparation. Stay to create a craft where we create Racing Pigs to take home, and discuss the special care Pig on our related farms receive to thrive for peak performance!

The Day the Crayons Quit is about poor Duncan, who just wants to color. But when he opens his box of crayons, he finds only letters all saying the same thing: His crayons have had enough! Stay to make a fun craft with an educational twist!

The Hidden Rainbow is an interactive story. All the colors of the rainbow are hidden in the garden, but can we help the little bee find them? Stay to make a fun craft with an educational twist!

Beauty and the Bees showcases Beauty’s budding relationship with the beekeeper introduces readers to the vital role that bees play on the farm and reminds us that sweetness can “bee” found where we least expect it.  Stay to create a craft and learn about our pollinators!

Soy Candle Workshop (Registration Required)

Register in advance for the next Soy Candle Workshop on June 29th! This workshop is a fun, hands-on experience for kids, friends, corporate groups, or even couples. Learn about the power of Soy! Additional Soy Candle Workshops available on September 21st and December 14th.

Make your own candle using soy wax with your unique scent combination. Our workshops are open to guests of all ages, and offer a choice of three different size candles. You’ll learn about the invention of wax made from soybeans, just miles away from Fair Oaks Farms, and how we use products with soybeans in them every single day! You’ll finish with a candle in a lovely holder to take home and enjoy or to give as a gift to someone special.

*Recommended for ages 6 and up.

Teacher Appreciation Weekend at Fair Oaks Farms

Let us host your educators at Fair Oaks Farms!

August 3rd and 4th only, we are offering complimentary Orchard Admission to Teachers and one guest! Experience first-hand what a trip to the Orchard at Fair Oaks Farms could teach your young students.

Orchard field trips are a fun, unique, and educational way to experience our orchard with your school group. Beginning at our Crop Adventure Building one of our tour guides will lead you through our orchard as they cover topics such as plant nutrition, orchard farming practices, and what makes our orchard unique!
