Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream

An easy-to-make ice cream recipe that will be sure to bring back childhood memories!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup Fair Oaks Farms Milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 egg yolk lightly beaten
  • 2 oz semisweet chocolate chips chopped

Instructions

  1. Whisk unsweetened cocoa powder, Fair Oaks Farms milk, salt, and sugar in a pot over medium heat until mixture simmers.

  2. Place egg yolks in small mixing bowl. Pour 1/2 cup of hot mixture in with egg yolks.

  3. Once combined, return the mixture to the pot. Heat until mixture thickens. Be sure not to boil it!

  4. Away from the heat, stir in chopped semisweet chocolate chips until melted.

  5. Pour mixture into a chilled bowl. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Be sure to stir the mixture every 30 minutes.

  6. After the chocolate mixture has cooled, mix in the heavy cream and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and let the machine do its work!

  7. After mixing, store the chocolate ice cream in a freeze. Time varies by machine manufacturer's directions.

  8. Serve in a bowl, cone, or in between 2 cookies. Enjoy!
