When the leaves begin to fall and the air starts getting crisp, one thing on any family’s plans is a fall festival. Fall family traditions are strong in the midwest with pumpkin carving, fall decor, and apple picking.
Fair Oaks Farms strives to make families come together and create new and lasting memories. One of the ways we do this is through our annual fall festival, CowtoberFest. CowtoberFest has been around for more than a decade now and has become a fall family tradition for most living in northwest Indiana.
CowtoberFest consists of several fun family activities such as pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, corn mazes and so much more. We bring in celebrity pumpkin carvers, Jon Neill and David Smith who create extraordinary carvings in pumpkins that weigh more than 400 pounds.
You can also watch the Giant Pumpkin Growers Association compete on the Saturday of the festival. This competition is unique and requires a lot of skill to carefully grow pumpkins weighing hundreds of pounds. Be sure to bring a lawn chair so that you can sit and enjoy this wonderful competition.
There is so much to do and see at CowtoberFest. Be sure to check our events page for upcoming dates and schedules.
