Are you and your dog going absolutely mutts inside? Fair Oaks Farms has the cure! On June 10th, from 4 to 9 PM, we’ll be hosting our fourth annual Dog-A-Palooza festival!
It’s the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with your pup. You can shop some of the best dog-gone vendors that will offer dog-specific items and services, or watch some of our live dog performances. In the evening, we will hold a 2K Dog Glow Walk, because we know how much man’s best friend loves walks. This year’s proceeds from the Dog Glow Walk will go to the Shelter of the Year, to be announced May 30th.
The most exciting part of this year’s Dog-A-Palooza is the grand opening of our dog park, Central Bark! The park is currently open to the public and your four-legged friends. Here at Fair Oaks we’re happy to be a dog-friendly campus, and with the addition of our dog park we hope your furry companions will feel much more welcome! And on June 10th there will be plenty of time for your pooch to grow acquainted with their new favorite dog park.
This all sounds great, doesn’t it? To register for the Dog Glow Walk, check out our rules and guidelines for the event, and get all the in-fur-mation you could ever need, visit the event page at www.fofarms.com/dogapalooza. We can’t wait to see you all there!
Woof! It’s been three years of dog-loving fun here at the farm. With so many more years ahead of us, we are excited that this event keeps getting better and better!
If you’re not familiar with Dog-A-Palooza then let me give you the break down. Dog-A-Palooza was created as a charitable event which raise money for local animal shelters through our 2K Dog Walk. A different shelter is chosen every year so that we can help as many different shelters as possible! This year we are raising money for Natalie’s Second Chance Dog Shelter out of Lafayette, IN.
We have created a whole new course for the 2K Walk this year that will keep your paws dry and your canine pals happy. When you register you will receive a commemorative Dog-A-Palooza t-shirt. There is also an option for you to purchase a bandana for your pup partners. Make sure to visit the event landing page to check out our event sponsors, see our rules and guidelines and to register for the walk!
Not only is the event charitable, but also it allows dog lovers a place to go and have fun with their furry family members. There’s so much to see any do! We feature several tail-wagging activities such as a trick dog show, a K9 Unit demonstration and an obedience school demo. We feature several pup-related vendors who sell anything from dog treats to dog outfits!
We also have some other fun things to do such as an agility/obstacle course for both large and small dogs and a kids play zone, not to mention Mooville will be open!
Scout leaders call to schedule a special time for your group to visit the Adventures.
We have over 60 interactive, fun, educational exhibits, real working farms, the 3D/4D movie, the Birthing Barn at the Dairy Adventure. The Gestation, Farrowing, and Growing Barn at the Pig Adventure. And now the all new interactive ropes course in our Pork Education building.
Each Scout receives a kiddie cone, and handbook for each active member. Scouts can earn their special Fair Oaks Farms patch! Admission is $6.00 per person per Adventure or $10 for both.
Must have a group of at least 10. If you have small groups under 10, please call for information. For groups of 10 or more, advanced notice is required. You can do this by using the online booking form or by calling us at 877-536-1194 ext 322.
What! It’s almost fall and we all know what that means. As of Labor Day weekend, Mooville closes during the week and is only open on the fantastic fall weekend of CowtoberFest.
I know it’s hard to imagine our lives without this outdoor dairy playground for a grueling 7 months out of the year so let’s just bask in the fact that we still have time to enjoy those moments of Mooville greatness while we still can!
Conqueror of vertical limits, the Udder Heights of our milk bottle is something that can’t be written about- only experienced. How many times have you told someone, “yeah I climbed up a 20 foot milk bottle today, what did you do?” AHH! The look on their faces when we tell them that story, right? I’m going to miss that!
How many flips did you manage to whip out this summer on our Cow-A-Bunga? I seriously tried three in a row and although I didn’t quite conquer that third diving spiral of a jump, I consider this to be a successful summer and know what I must challenge myself with next year! Ugh…I’m going to miss that!!
I couldn’t get enough of Dairy Air this year. I am pretty sure that I’ve built up my entire summer stamina on that big giant pillow full of fun. It’s hard not to make a friend or two while you’re enjoying that bouncy fun. I am SO going to miss that!
Don’t forget swirling through the cheese maze, racing each other on the peddle tractors or enjoying a leisurely ride on the Moo Choo Train!! I’m going to miss all of that!!
The good thing is that we still have time to enjoy those attractions before they are completely closed for the season and when they are…there’s always that crazy ropes course in The Pork Education Center!
Mooville closes after Labor Day and opens one last time for the season during CowtoberFest, October 10-11.
It’s almost that time every child is dreading, Back to School! That means summer is almost over and it’s back to early bedtimes, hectic schedules and lots of homework. Why not plan one last fun trip before summer is over? Let’s do a back to school checklist but add a little Adventure to it!
Back to School Fair Oaks Farms checklist:
Catch some air on the Dairy Air jumping pillow
See if you can conquer the ropes course in the Pork Education Center
Enjoy a hot dog kids meal at the Cowfe

Adopt a stuffed pig or cow at our Gift Shop
Sit and enjoy some T.V. in the Redwood King’s tree house
Enjoy dinner and scenery on the porch of the Farmhouse Restaurant
Climb Udder heights on our 25 foot milk bottle

Scoop up your favorite flavored ice cream
Sample the specialty peanut butter at the Market and Bakery
Taste our one-of-a-kind Fine Chocolates
Have your family burn off some energy before school and participate in our Farm15K on August 15th. Our Farm15K offers two different levels: 15K or 5K. Let’s see who can get the fastest time out of your bunch. Make those summer memories that your family will always remember. Spoil your children before all the hard work begins. Educate them with fun and modern farming.
Even though summer is almost over, we are excited that fall is right around the corner. Our fall festival, CowtoberFest® is going to be a 2-day event of excitement this year. Jon Neill of Halloween Wars will be returning to wow us with his spectacular pumpkin carvings.
Catch a performance by Indiana native and winner of Kenny Chesney’s Next Big Star Competition, Clayton Anderson. Prepare to be swept away by a magical performance from Dennis Watkins, award- winning magician, mind reader, published playwright, celebrated actor and accomplished director. So come on out, throw on your costume, grab a pumpkin spice latte, and enjoy the fun!
Well it’s time to polish up the ole hawg because HogustFest is right around the corner! This special hogtastic event celebrates 2 years of business for The Pig Adventure at Fair Oaks Farms and we are doing it in style!
Be prepared for a giant inflatable playground! With the purchase of a wristband, you little piglets can go hog wild on several bounce houses, obstacle courses and inflatable rides (including a mechanical BOAR!)
while you sit back and enjoy some live music from local bands and a special performance by Tall Walker. Browse our vendors for special crafts, trinkets and more! Hogustfest is August 1 and the perfect time to get out of the house with your family before school starts!
Are you a motorcycle enthusiast?! Well this event is for you! Ride on out to the farm on your custom, vintage or cruiser bike (more categories available through registration) and meet other bike enthusiasts and riders to show off your ride! Register to save your spot and you will receive a complimentary HogustFest t-shirt if you are one of the first 50 bikers to register! Shirts will also be available for purchase on site to benefit a Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
That’s not all! The Farmhouse Restaurant will be roasting a hog on site and our Cowfe will be serving up some delicious bacon milkshakes so bring your appetite and come pig out!
I think one of the best things to do during the summer is check out some of the coolest and most unique festivals. Summers in Indiana are filled with them. Here, is where I shamelessly plug one of Fair Oaks Farms’ most unique festivals; Dog-A-Palooza.
Have you heard of it? If you haven’t, it’s a charitable event that was organized in 2014 to help raise funds for local animal shelters. The folks at Fair Oaks Farms, myself included, are huge dog lovers. In fact, we occasionally have some office dog visitors to play with which is pretty awesome.
Anyway, Fair Oaks Farm’s is hosting the second year of Dog-A-Palooza in a big way. This year we have invited the internationally known Dock Dogs to come and entertain our guests with an all day show. These highly skilled professional performance dogs will absolutely wow you, but be prepared that your little pooch may be envious of these furry stars!
Of course one of the main events of Dog-A-Palooza is the 2K Dog Walk. This awesome activity is the main opportunity for us to be able to help raise funds for the shelter of the year. This year, we have chosen Loving Hearts Animal Shelter of Lafayette IN. Loving Hearts will be on site with information about their shelter and also have pets available for on-site adoptions.
We will also feature a live DJ, an amateur dog show where everyone can participate and some dog obstacle courses. Pay a visit to our on-site veterinarian, Dr. Janice Mallory of Rensselaer Pet Care and pamper your pooch at our on-site dog groomer. Visit some of our amazing doggy vendors which will feature collars, dog toys, and treats of many kinds. We will also have the Jasper and Newton County K9 Units back for an unbelievable demonstration with their highly skilled canines.
We encourage you to bring your dogs out but don’t forget to bring proof of their vaccinations in order to enter the festival. For 2K Walk registrations or more information on festival rules, please visit fofarms.com/dogapalooza
With 2014 behind us, what will be in store for 2015?
We are about to go hog wild!
The Pork Education Center will be opening its doors this spring. This new addition to our Pig Adventure will feature a custom indoor tree house, and a highflying rope maze that will test your knowledge on pork production. This new building will also be the new bus depot to take you out to The Pig Adventure.
The Crop Adventure is also scheduled to open its doors in late 2015. This Adventure will teach you all there is to know about modern farming practices. You will learn about intricate root systems, how weather affects our crops and indulge in amazing and interesting facts about Indiana plants.
Fair in the Air is scheduled to happen in early May. This new event will take you back to your childhood. The event is all about kites. Yes, you heard that right. Kites of all shapes and sizes will be featured along with synchronized kites, kite making and kites the size of school buses!
HogustFest will take place during the birthday month of our Pig Adventure, August! While this event is still in its early stages of planning, you can bet by the title, that it’ll be an event not to be missed!
